I am an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Philosophy at
Western Michigan University, where I currently serve as the Director of Graduate Studies for our
MA program. I received my Ph.D. from Princeton Universtity in 2018 under the supervision of John Burgess. My research is primarily in the philosophy of mathematics and often draws inspiration from the work of Ludwig Wittgenstein and Alasdair MacIntyre. I regularly teach graduate courses on early analytic philosophy (Frege, Russell, and the
Tractatus), virtue ethics, and mathematical logic. I also oversee graduate-level independent studies across a wide range of areas. These have included studies on
Anti-Oedipus,
Being and Nothingness,
Being and Time, critical theory, computability theory, moral motivation,
The Phenomenology of Spirit, rule-following, and set theory. At the undergraduate level, my teaching additionally covers political philosophy, engineering ethics, and introductory ethics.
